DSBCD’s Competitive Showcases

The Durham School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance (DSBCD) is proud to present our Annual Competitive Choreography Showcase on March 26th at the Whitby Courthouse Theatre.

This evening will feature our competitive solos, duets, and trios, spanning our Novice through Advanced divisions. These works are not simply competition pieces — they are studies in identity, discipline, vulnerability, and power. Each dancer steps forward with courage, embodying months of refinement, risk, and artistic growth.

Our Group works will be presented on March 27th in-studio, where the full force of ensemble energy comes to life. These pieces explore athleticism, musicality, sculptural shapes, and the layered storytelling that has become a signature of DSBCD’s creative voice.

At DSBCD, we are deeply committed to choreography that moves beyond convention. Our work blends classical training with contemporary edge — bold, thoughtful, and unapologetically original. We challenge our dancers to think, to feel, and to inhabit movement fully.

This showcase is a celebration of their dedication — and of a creative process that values innovation, depth, and artistry at every level.

Tickets will be available soon. We look forward to sharing this powerful body of work with our community.
